Restaurant Kumi in Las Vegas

Afgelopen week mocht ik een aantal dagen in Las Vegas zijn. Je komt hier niet zo makkelijk maar toch zijn er zijn twee restaurants waar ik echt over moet schrijven. Beiden niet supergoedkoop, ik geef het toe, maar dit was zooo lekker, dat moest ik met jullie delen.

De eerste van de twee is het Japanse restaurant Kumi in Mandalay Bay Hotel. http://kumilasvegas.com/

Als je op de link klikt is het een hele amerikaanse site, met veel reclame, maar als je hier doorheen kijkt, dan zie je wat een geweldig restaurant dit is.

Helaas was het licht vrij gedimd, dus mijn foto’s zijn vrij donker uitgevallen. Daarom heb ik een paar foto’s van de site van het restaurant zelf genomen, en die staan op de facebookpagina www.facebook.com/voedenzo

Dit is de 2e keer dat ik hier gegeten heb. Vorig jaar hadden we vooral allerlei soorten sushi, en die werden ter plekke voor ons bereid. Geweldig gezicht om de koks bezig te zien achter een soort van ‘bar’. Vlees, vis, schelpdieren, zelfs gedeeltelijk gefrituurd en met allerlei groenten erin, helemaal geweldig.

Dit keer hebben we echter een soort van ‘proeverij‘ diner genomen, en dat betekend dat je in feite een keuze van de chef krijgt van alle meest favoriete gerechten van het restaurant. Wat een geweldig idee!

We kregen allerlei soorten gemarineerde vis, in een saus, met jalapeno erop, scherpe, zoetere marinades, gefrituurde gambas, sushi en verschillende soorten gebakken en gefrituurde groenten. Perfect gemaakt en perfect opgemaakt, het was werkelijk een feest!

Met een soort proeverij zoals dit, kun je natuurlijk ook de meest verwende gasten die NIET zo erg van sushi houden, heel gelukkig maken!
